LESSON LENGTHS

The right amount of time for each stage.

Lesson length is selected according to the student’s age, attention span, experience, repertoire, and goals. Pricing will be provided when you contact the studio.

30Minutes

Younger beginners

Best suited for most beginning students under age 10. The focused format supports developing attention spans while allowing time for foundational technique, reading, listening, and guided practice.

45Minutes

Growing musicians

A strong fit for many teenage and intermediate students. The additional time supports more substantial repertoire, technique, musicianship, interpretation, and detailed feedback without feeling rushed.

60Minutes

Advanced study

Well suited to advanced teenagers, serious students, and adults. Longer lessons allow deeper work on technique, musical understanding, multiple pieces, interpretation, and independent artistry.

Final lesson-length recommendations are individualized. Age is one consideration; readiness, goals, and learning needs matter too.

WHY PRIVATE LESSONS

Focused instruction creates meaningful progress.

One-on-one teaching gives every lesson a clear purpose and allows instruction to change as the student changes.

01

Truly individualized instruction

Repertoire, explanations, pacing, practice strategies, and technical work can be selected for one student rather than averaged across a group.

02

Immediate, precise feedback

Small issues in posture, coordination, rhythm, fingering, bowing, tone, or interpretation can be addressed before they become habits.

03

Efficient use of lesson time

The entire lesson is devoted to the student’s playing, questions, progress, and next steps—without waiting for other students.

04

Responsive pacing

Concepts can be slowed down, reframed, revisited, or advanced according to understanding rather than a fixed class schedule.

05

Confidence and trust

A consistent teacher-student relationship creates a supportive place to take musical risks, ask questions, and develop an individual voice.

06

Whole-musician development

Technique, listening, reading, understanding, expression, and independence can be developed together through the TOTAL MUSICIAN METHOD™.
