A musical foundation in Poland
Born in Poland, Dobrusia developed her musical identity through years of focused study before moving to the United States to pursue higher education and continue building her performing career.
MEET YOUR TEACHER
A lifelong musician, international performer, experienced studio director, and dedicated private teacher committed to helping every student become a confident, expressive, independent musician.
FROM POLAND TO TEXAS
Dobrusia brings the perspective of a performer, educator, and former studio director to every private lesson—along with a deep respect for each student’s individual path.
Born in Poland, Dobrusia developed her musical identity through years of focused study before moving to the United States to pursue higher education and continue building her performing career.
She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance, deepening her expertise in technique, interpretation, performance, and the traditions of classical musicianship.
As an orchestral musician, Dobrusia performed in renowned concert halls and venues throughout the United States and Europe, including Poland, Germany, Austria, Spain, France, Portugal, and beyond.
Throughout her years as a performer, she maintained an active private teaching schedule in a variety of settings, developing the student-centered approach that remains central to her work today.
Under Dobrusia’s leadership, Queen City Music Studio grew to serve more than 1,000 students and included a team of 20 instructors offering lessons across a wide range of instruments and voice.
After returning to Texas, Dobrusia founded Woodland Springs Music Studio and returned her focus to the personal, one-on-one instruction she has always loved. She intentionally keeps enrollment limited so each musician receives thoughtful, highly individualized attention.
IN THE STUDIO
Private instruction allows the lesson to respond to the student in front of the teacher—their strengths, questions, pace, goals, learning style, and musical interests.
Instruction adapts to the student’s level, pace, readiness, and goals while continually encouraging meaningful growth.
Technique, listening, understanding, interpretation, confidence, and artistry develop together—not as separate afterthoughts.
Students learn not only what to play, but how to listen, think, solve problems, make choices, and take ownership of their music.
MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I believe that every student deserves instruction that is tailored to their individual abilities, goals, learning style, and musical interests. For that reason, I intentionally keep Woodland Springs Music Studio small and limited in enrollment, allowing me to personally work with each student and provide the individual attention needed for meaningful musical growth.
“I want students not only to play an instrument, but to understand music, express themselves through it, and take pride in what they are able to accomplish.”
Lessons go beyond reproducing the correct notes. Proper technique, sight-reading, listening, musical understanding, expression, and artistry form one strong musical foundation.
Whether a student is beginning a first instrument, returning after many years, or working at an advanced level, instruction meets them where they are and helps them progress toward meaningful goals.
Performance is an important part of musical development. Recitals give students the opportunity to share what they have learned, build confidence, and experience the joy of performing for others.
Intermediate and advanced students who want an additional challenge may receive guidance for competitions and other performance opportunities. Participation is always optional and based on readiness and interest.
Not simply better players.Better musicians for life.
